rubber - mr oizo + gaspard auge
Hello again everyone, I had my first mini-shift today. Enjoyed it quite a bit, I'm sure some of you will probably run into me at some point over the coming months, working my ass right off.
The rest are probably sane and stay away from the decaying human circulatory problem that is Abbeycentre.
I got a new xbox today, and it's pretty bangin'. Took a wee while to sort out the wireless but now it's streaming like a piece.
And to finish, I'm going to point out that all my blog postings from now will have the title of a ncie dirty electro song.

best week ever
Well, these have been a hectic set of weeks recently. Starting out, I got my GCSE results, 2As, 6Bs and 2Cs, got me back to school so stoked on that.
THEN, I went to my job interview and later that day got the job. Also stoked.
THEN, I went up to the Radisson Hotel in Limavady with family for a break to celebrate my grandfolks' anniversary.
THEN, yesterday, I got a train from Colraine to Mossley, walked home, got a bus to town, got in the que, went to belsonic. Also that night, I managed to put out someone's cigarette with my head, got offered smack on two occasions and then did the whole sit on shoulders routine. Thought I may as well do one better, so I stood on the crowd for a drop of a Justice song. Then crowdsurfed it. Excellent.
Soulwax were an amazing little analog delight, Major Lazer was a dirt-fest of tunes, Two Door Cinema Club were the incredible indie band they've nearly always been and 2manydjs were beyond comparison.

why did the chicken cross the road?
He was getting his GCSE results that day. I'm waiting on mine, this ol' chicken is a day ahead.
And I'm starting to worry that I'm not worrying enough. Everyone's freaking out, going mental, signing up for tech and the like, I've done nothing!
So wish me luck, or I'll be cleaning toilets for a living.

Ten Pins. 4 (or 5) lads. A dose of winning and PLENTY of balls.
Yeah, I'm going to go play ten-pin bowling tonight with some mates (Mop, Mowgli, Butler and maybe Lee). Should be lovely craic. McDonalds afterwards too. Woop Woop!

boo boo ba doo.
I'm here to;
firstly, apologise on the inconsistency of my posts.
And secondly, post again!
Nothing new is really happening, I suppose it's news enough to suggest that I had a crazy epiphany yesterday. So I've been taking some things with a pinch more (or less) of salt if you get what I mean. So basically I'm the same as always. I've been having a typically boring Summer and the rain hasn't been off much, so it's been dreary and at times, pretty lonely. I can't seem to get a job either, so any ideas on schemes how to make money are really appreciated. Thanks a lot to anyone who bothers!
For now, cheerio!

For the widows in paradise, for the fatherlss in Ypsilanti
Yeah, big into Sufjan, again. And again, and again, and again. He's just such an incredible musician. Especially on Illinois, Michigan and Seven Swans. The BQE is a pretty nifty album too!
Anyways, I'm dying to get some form of income. Apart from trying to find enough small time odd promo-esque jobs, there's not much cash coming in. Which sucks. Summer is off to a pretty dire start, and I'm already looking forward to things starting back.
I would quite like to learn piano on top of that.

ratatat
Well, considering I needed to kill some time I decided to write a short update. I got my hair cut tonight, that was fun. I also got a new phone, an HTC Wildfire so I'll pop a wee opinion/review up here probably. I honestly wish that Blogspot/Blogger had a "What I'm (Listening to/Doing/Eating)", would complete life. For those of you who care, it's My War by Black Flag, what an album.

update
Well, not much has been going on. My folks are coming home from France soon, so the house will need a nice tidy. John's back soon too, so practising can recommence. More effects will hopefully be bought, among other things.
ALSO, the new Tera Melos album seems to be taking form. I myself, as a Tera Melos fan, am looking forward to purchasing and enjoying Patagonian Rats, and I will hopefully get some of you fools into them. Google it, I'm too lazy to link.

it's been a while?
Wow, longest non-blog interval ever.
Not much new news (sp?) but I've thoroughly enjoyed doing nothing. Got our first proper practise space time booked, Monday from 7-10 @ Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast. They're all about the newcomers, so we decided to pop on board. We should have some promo pictures and a name picked out soon enough, including ghosts and a wreck of a big-ass house. <3
You stay classy, Planet Earth.

Yes, it's fuuuun to listen to beats. Big beats. Big beats with heart and soul and ridiculous amounts of dirty synth bass. Grrrreat, just like something Tony the Tiger would listen to. Steve Aoki, Busy P, SebastiAn, Justice, Bloody Beetroots, amazing.
If anyone else actually cares about this, get yourself Romborama by Bloody Beetroots. Incredible album, never knew non-Frenchies could do it so well.
Yeah, nearly have this band sorted by now everyone, will keep you ALL posted.
Lovelovelove.

Mathematicals
I never ever have to do Maths ever again. Never. Not even if I have to work out currencies abroad, as I can use a computer. I will never have to add, because a till does it for me. I will never have to save, because my bank can do that. I will never have to find out why x is x. Or why there is a right angle in a triangle. It's because the triangle was born without limbs, ok?
This is the greatest feeling on earth. It's like a non-mathematical, hypothetical and pathetical high. Awesome. Averages, means, medians, common denominators and especially quadratic graphs and expansions are all being forgotten. I feel like triumphantly beating my head off a brick wall. Magic.
That's about it really, although, all you folks gotta' remember;
2+2= No maths.

eyes of a fish
Well, my good friend Gordo's fisheye lens came for his Sony DSLR this morning. Man did we have fun on the bus journey home from our day in Belfast. Here's just one of the little highlights.

tidbits.
Ten down, twelve to go.
I managed to negotiate a purchase of this lovely little guitar. She'll be 190 quid all in with a strap. I need to sell my old guitar first though, it's £200 quid and it's got 3 potential buyers. So I'm excited. Effects pedals are next on this list, that should be fun!
On the other hand, I found this...
Apparently Dave Knudson, the guitarist for progressive indie-pop(?) band Minus the Bear hates pepsi. Go figure, I do too.

early blug.
Yeah, well I'm sitting here trying to waste time before my bus to school. Got a biology exam this fine morning, I shouldn't mind sitting in the baking heat in a black uniform for two hours.
I think this is my first post which has been made in the morning. Awesome! Needed to broaden my blogging specification though, so it's all good and called for.
Other news? I don't know, bassists are very hard to find, bassists who are committed and half-decent aren't existant. I have to down my brand-spanking new CV into a few shops, hopefully find a way to make green.
Well, I better shoot, don't fancy missing a GCSE, that wouldn't be too pleasant for the rentals. Have a sweetass day, it's started itself!
Here's what I'm listening to, enjoy! (Should be beneficial on all those hot Summer mornings!)

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez + John Frusciante new album.
Well, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, the main brain behind The Mars Volta, and all trillion of his solo/quartet/group/el gruepo neuveo de ____ albums, has released another FANTASTIC album with his collabratory friend, John Frusicante (Formerly of Red Hot Chili Peppers) and it's a majestic and inspiring psychadelic fest of Acid-rock, hard hitting drumming and electronic samples. Great. Full of mojo.
Here's the link; CLICK ME CLICK ME YES ON MY FACE.
There should be instructions on how to get the album for free. Any donations made (obligatory) go to a music in schools foundations. On the right sidebar is another album by Omar and John, not as heavy in the psychadelic realms, but just as trippy, in an eerie sense.
Enjoy!

bored of being skint.
Yeah, as the title would inspire your thoughts, I'm tired of having no money.
Yes, it's crap. Yes, it means I have to be careful in spending, yes I know. Plus, it doesn't make it any easier to get a job when you're competing with hundreds of other people. Even though I've got 3 months experience in a retail role.
It's crap. But, to console myself, I've decided to put my all into my band. I did not realise how cheesey that would sound. But it's true. Giving my all and everything into this Post-folk-rap-parody-electronic-jungle-hyphy sextet known as Butterfingers and toes.
Not really, it's called Sevenlightcircle, and we play varying alt rock, and if you fancy keeping track of us just email me to ask for updates and stuff (greggreid@live.co.uk) or you could just keep updating this, or wait for us to finalize a myspazz or something.
good day to you!

Hey everyone, apparently some of you actually regularly read this and enjoy doing so, so thumbs up! Of course, the rest of you are saying that you're sick of firstly car insurance rewarding existing customers, and now Gregg Says?
Not to fear, maybe I'll get a free "How to be Gregg Reid" lesson to everyone who emails me an appreciation email on greggreid@live.co.uk
So, I'm lying on my bed here, anyone know any good ways to waste/pass time/wind?
Haha

Good afternoon planet earth. What's up?
Don't say "nothing, you?", because that's predictable and boring. For instance, if you were to ask me what was up, I would say; "Well, I'm listening to Sunny Day Real Estate, lying on my bed with my macbook doing a spot of History revision, and right now I'm writing a short tidbit for my blog, actually, you should check it out on www.greggsays.blogspot.com!"
So next time, think before you reply!

general doss
Well, apparently I don't update this enough, so here's a new wee feed. Exams. The torment and ever-present negativity surrounding both the exams and the sufferers.
I'm in the middle of my GCSEs as of today, 25.05.2010, and it sucks. It's all about trying your hardest, keeping focused etc. However, I think that it's brought me nothing but stress and agitation.
Also, I'm trying to string together 3 other like-minded musicians to start to write something new. I don't know if we'll be the new Animal Collective, Architecture in Helsinki or Sigur Rós, but we'll try our hardest.
Thanks if you actually take the time out of your day to read this. Maybe I'll make some relevant posts to news, or life, or gardening or something.

Just for A
Well, I've been getting a fair bit of appreciation from what I believe to be a homoerotic admirer. This person would indeed be Young A, The handsome devil in the picture below.
Anyways, he seems to be enjoying what he calls "G Says", and I thought I'd make a wee post to make said person chuckle. So I thought I'd incorporate the greatest video of all time. Enjoy!

new other stuff.
Yes I know, everything's new these days. So the other day I decided to sign myself up for medical research, much to everyone's disapproval. Basically, smart men test new drugs on me to see what happens. And then they give me lots of money. It's rare for any chances to come up for a 16-18 year old (Most are 18-55) but it's always good to be on their register. If any of you fancy it just google "MDSNI" and it should come up.
In other news, I got quite a few excellent albums by quite a few excellent bands, but I won't write them all out. That'll bore you.
Later.

NEW KICKS
Yes, I did indeed purchase new kicks. I performed that action last Thursday however, and upon finding a failed delivery yesterday when I returned from my last day of school, I had to collect them.
I decided I needed new kicks when I finally tore my Chuck taylor.

I upgraded to...

Yes, the picture needed to be THAT big. It's THAT imporant.

Now, to French orals :(

update (feat. french + forfey)
Obviously, whilst in preparation for my french orals I've decided to pop in a quick update. To anyone who's actually decided to read this, would you care to tell me what I'm going to do with my family next weekend?
Anyways, the tickets for FORFEY have been announced and are up and ready to be sold in massive amounts. For those who don't know, Forfey is a festival in Co. Fermanagh, held on Forfey Farm on the 6th-8th August. It's incredibly well priced (£35!) and has a fantastic LINE UP to offer. Of course, bring your own tents and all that craic.
Anyways, I had best be getting back to my revision, less than 24 hours before the massacre begins.
Cheers!

First post.
Hey everyone, just thought I'd add a "first post" to the blog. 'm not sure what I'm aiming to do with the blog, I suppose it's just a filing system for my thoughts. That or a hidden brainwashing program.
Well, I'll try make updating this a habit. It might not be a blog a day but I'll try to keep it as updated as I can. Maybe I'll fire in a few late-night slots when I'm supposed to be sleeping (Just like right now!)
Until next time, cheerio!
